Here’s my story…
Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, my first job at age 13 was detasseling corn. It’s a hot, muddy and sweaty job that prepared me for a career in the field!
My first love was music. I spent my teens and early twenties studying drums and touring the country with bands. At 21, I made my way the East Coast to attend the Drummer’s Collective in New York City.
During time off from the road, I found myself back in the field working at Treleaven Winery in King Ferry, NY, Cayuga Landscape Company and Green Scene Lawn and Garden in Ithaca, NY. As a landscaper, I discovered a love of plants and a knack for plant identification. Throughout the years, plant health and beauty has been a major focus of my work.
As my career in landscaping progressed, I became more involved in construction projects estimating and managing teams on a larger scale. Working frequently with code enforcement, I became familiar with standard building and construction procedures, and decided to pursue a direction applying that knowledge. In 2019, I enrolled at The Upstate Group for the NYS home inspector course and received a NYS home inspector license.
In addition to what I do for work, I’ve personally learned how rewarding homeownership can be through owning two homes and performing all the renovations myself. Becoming a home inspector has allowed me to guide others in understanding and enjoying their homes.
When I’m not working, I’m still pursuing the things I love. You’ll see me around town behind the drumset with The Analogue Sons, cooking up a storm, traveling, and hitting the slopes on telemark skis with friends and family!
